Antique Victorian natural red coral 12k yellow gold brooch. The center rectangular hand carved coral is surrounded by twelve hand carved round rosettes.
During the Victorian Era coral was believed to promote good health and ward off illness, for that reason was often worm by young children.

Singed 'Birks' and dates from the 1970's. Enamel work is in impeccable condition.
